Committees

The ACUM has a number of committees that anyone can join. Please email the committee that interests you to find out when they are recruiting new members.

Advising Administrators


This is a committee for those who manage advising units, supervise advisors, and/or understand day-to-day advising functions and have influence over decision-making.

Advisor Training


The Advisor Training Committee explores and advocates for an advisor training curriculum, one that provides central and accessible training and resources for advisors and is intended to complement unit-specific needs.

Assessment


The purpose of the assessment committee is to support a culture of assessment and evidence based decision making within the UM academic advising community.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Advising Practice (DEIAP)


DEIAP aims to expand individual engagement and competency of diversity, equity and inclusion issues relevant to our personal growth and professional goals. 

Graduate Advising


The primary goal of this committee is to better standardize and support the graduate student experience at U-M. The Graduate Advising Committee focuses on sharing information and best practices including professional development opportunities.

Pre-Health Advisors Forum (PHAF)


PHAF is a committee for individuals who engage with U-M Students interested in health professions graduate and professional programs. This group aims to work collaboratively as a means to support Pre-Health Advising practices on a decentralized campus. 

Technology


The mission of the Technology Committee is to improve access to, effectiveness of, and understanding of existing advising technology tools; and advocate for new advising technology resources.

Wellness


The purpose of the Wellness Committee is to connect advisors with each other on topics related to their own wellness and the well-being of their students.
